HCS/HB 998 - This act prohibits the tattooing, branding, or body piercing of minors without the prior written consent of the minor's parent or legal guardian. Fraudulent misrepresentation as a parent is a Class B misdemeanor. This act also prohibits the tattooing, branding, or body piercing of persons who are under the influence of intoxicating liquor or a controlled substance. Violators are guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined no less than $500 or more than $1000. This bill is similar to SB 575.
